Security State of Mind

Computer security should be the result of basic security practices. Security like
basic values begin at home. Security is an attitude, mindset or state of mind. This article will develop this idea
and give guidance on creating security as a habit and a way of life
Every morning when you awaken up you expect to be safe. Safe in your bed
behind a safe door in a safe dwelling. If you travel a lot your hotel room door is not only locked, it problably is
double latched. In fact safety started with our parents when they told you to shut and hopefully lock the door
behind you when you left and came in the house.
Believe it or not while in Shreveport, LA this one week preforming a
network installation. I heard on the evening news, a story about a 19 yr old college girl saying she woke up with a
drunk man on top of her. How frightening that must have been. She screamed fought him off and called 911. After the
police arrested the man they charged him with assualt and breaking and entering. She said her boyfriend left the
door open when he left earlier that evening. Well her boyfriend needs to be made accountable also (she probaly
needs to dump this irresponsible dude before it's too late).
Anyway security needs to be taken seriously and not just as an after
thought.
Here are few things to you can do to secure your world.
- Take a Self Defense class which is aways a good way to keep in shape and
gain valuable confidence and self protection knowledge.
- Carry Pepper Spray, or a Taser in your purse or on you, especially when
going for a jog or walk is wise.
- Carry a cell phone for emergency
